Flights across the country have been cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy.
Hurricane Sandy is proving to be so powerful, that it is delaying flights out of LAX some 3,000 miles away from the eye of the storm.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - About 10,000 flights have been cancelled nationwide so far, with at least 130 originating at LAX. Additional cancellations are expected as the storm develops, then blows itself out over the northeastern states.

Flight cancellations have occurred all across the country, with airports such as JFK international being closed altogether.

There is no word on when such flights might resume, but it could be a day or more yet, depending on the severity and speed of the storm and how much damage is done to affected infrastructure.
