Police are asking for all money recovered by residents to be returned.
Authorities say they have recovered some $1,501 in stolen cash thrown by bank robbers onto the streets of South LA. They are asking residents to turn in the rest.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - It is unclear how much cash was thrown away, but $1,501 has been recovered. A sheriff's deputy found $1,001 and members of the public have returned another $500.

It is believed the robbers threw the cash out the window to prevent pursuit as people dashed into the street to pick it up.

Police later apprehended three of the four suspected bank robbers, all men in their 20's.

They are asking for the public to please return the rest of the money.
