The robbers being taken into custody.
Bank robbers who threw fistfuls of cash onto LA streets while being chased by police are now in custody.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA (Catholic Online) - The robbers held up a bank in Santa Clarita before heading south into LA in an effort to escape. As they were being pursued, they threw fists of cash out the windows, causing people to run into the streets.

While locals consider the men modern day Robin Hoods, the LAPD says the motive was actually to slow down pursuing police. Since the event was also being watched on television, locals suddenly took to the streets, clogging the area in an effort to score some of the largesse. This made pursuit hazardous for police, but they doggedly persisted and eventually captured the thieves.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the pursuit. Some honest citizens have returned the money, while others have apparently kept it, saying that it's a stimulus package for a long-depressed neighborhood.
