Surf's up in SoCal!

Catholic Online (www.catholic.org)

Ventura Harbor had 14 foot waves this last Sunday.
On Sunday, Southern California's coast experienced some big waves, or rather, the surfers did.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA (Catholic Online) - Sunday saw a large west swell that continued until Monday. The reason the SoCal coast saw such a large swell was due to a storm in Alaska that ran into Northern California on Saturday.

The storm sent a powerful swell that travelled down to the coast during the weekend. A swell that peaked all along the southern coast on Sunday.

"The highest we got here was Ventura Harbor had 14 feet and Channel Islands Harbor had 10 feet," said Stuart Seto of the National Weather Service in Oxnard, adding that the measurements were taken at 1 p.m. Sunday. "Hermosa had 8 feet."
